2018 A New Year, Fresh Start

https://mobile-cuisine.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/new-years-resolution-e1483713286404.jpgSo as many of you know, my New Year’s resolution is to begin fresh. Leaving the past behind and stating over with a positive and joyous outlook. This  is, in my opinion, making a healthy new start to the new year.

I began by getting rid of photos. Now I know, many of you will think this is a bad move. Let me explain. had many photos that I had not looked at for about 5 or 6 years. When I began sorting them, there was so much pain, sorrow, regret, anger, bitterness and very little joy or happiness in the remembrances. So I asked myself, “Do I really want to keep all this negative reminders around or have only happy, joyful memories? I decided to get rid of it all. Now I did keep a very few of the photos that had no negative effects. But it was like 6 or 7 photos. I had previously sent some photos to those who might appreciate them.

After throwing them in the dumpster, I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. Like I was FREE. I am glad because I didn’t want to change my mind and have to jump in that dumpster to retrieve them. 😊

I also did a lot of shredding. Getting rid of old papers like tax returns from years ago. It was a very busy day. I empty out two storage bins. I felt so good about what I had done that I decided to keep going.

I guess what you would call my new outlook would be “minimalist”. I don’t need or want too much “junk” cluttering up my house or my mind.

So far, I am off to a good start. My new mantra is, “If you have not used something or even taken it out of the storage bin in a year, you don’t need it. Throw it out or sell it on LetGo.

Now I have about 3 or 4 more bins to go through. Next, my closets!
